Texas and low grade asphalt roofing.
I recently checked out some homes in the Houston area and noticed that 99% of even the nicer homes had asphalt type shingles. These were not even nice shingles by California standards as most had fading and stains. Very few homes had tile roofs that are the norm for middle of the road and up homes where I live.
It can't be because of the heat because in the Central valley it gets hot here. Do any of you that reside in Texas know why this is?
I may have to import some roofing for my residence if I make the move.
