It's a beautiful artsy town full of small cafes and shops that's increasingly popular with tourists (I saw a mix of Americans, Mexicans, and Italians).

Pros of turnkey: - up to date with current design trends (comparable to apartment new builds)- easier to rent out and attracts more potential tenants- no work necessary AKA less time lost with rehab workCons of turnkey- may require some "breaking in". you might need to bring in contractors to fix things here & there- you don't know what's under the beautiful face of the property. flips can sometimes have terrible bones- quality of craftsmanship is subparMy first house hack needed a ton of work.

While I understand there is a comfort level with friends, the beauty of the house hack is that you can take your time to really assess potential renters not only based on background check and income but also compatibly with yourself and other house mates without potentially violating any fair housing laws.
