I had my roommates try messing with the circuit breaker by flipping all of them off and on.

I'm currently renting with a roommate, and the rent is very affordable, however I believe my plan should be to buy and hold for my first property, living there myself with an additional roommate.

@Kenneth Garrett I might have paid for this first one, but this tenant just brought on a bunch of new roommates (legally), so I'm having her pay half.

When I was a college student living in a dorm, I had three roommates in my with another 3-roommates across the hallway.

For anyone who has rented a property by the room as opposed to an entire unit or house, or has rented out one room to roommate via a rent-by-the-room house hack, are there any special considerations for doing so in Chicago?

Or, can't him/herself handle $1,200 a month rent so moves in with a roommate and pay $600.00.

no criminal record, he would be my roommate, i live in illinois which means it takes a long time to evict someone. 

In other words, even if one tenant pays $400 for a tiny room and another roommate pays $800 for a master suite, each tenant is still liable for the full $1,200 rent, even if some of the tenants flake out.All for one.
