And that's what brought me to real estate investing because I believed that I can build my success, if I am willing to keep on working hard and learn about it.I do have some real estate experience as far as searching for properties, applying for mortgages, closing, and renovation, when we bought our primary home about 6 years ago.

Hi all,My brother @Aaron Smith is planning on 1031'ing proceeds from his 4 unit into a 4 unit renovation project in Washington DC. 

I went by that home a few weeks ago and man did you do a wonderful renovation on it.

I'd originally thought to fund the renovations (ballpark 135k) out of pocket but we just finished the exterior and I'm now considering financing options.

I would advise looking at value add projects in the best markets (jobs, population growth exceeding natl averages) and sponsors (general partners) that have built a solid track record.  

How long do you project the rehab to take?

I asked the lender to recommend a contractor and she provided me one whom she works with for homestyle renovation loans.

@Stephen Sawrie,Do you mean can you use your SDIRA funds as a down payment and finance the rest of what you need to purchase vs. can you offer to finance OTHER peoples projects?
