So my mother's home is something I have been taking care of for the last 25 years and my mother is getting into those years of uncertainty and she has a lot of equity in the property and it's in an area by a very popular college in Ohio.

Nothing is bulletproof unless you have the riches to buy real estate at rock bottom prices and be able to sit on it for 10 years-then you shouldn't be on this forum if you can do that.
