@Dave Blackman The $10 you're mentioning is likely the consideration amount exchanged to make the contract enforceable, not the amount of the promissory note.

If you own the property then notify local law enforcement.

The reason the Code enforcement people said that is because they jump through hoops to get it condemned and then they add the cost of demo to the back taxes.

You may want to research STR in Raleigh/Durham because I've heard many people say that they are working to pass legislation which would only you to STR if it's your primary residence and allow a certain number within the city.
