My concern is in the renting aspect.

I am barely a month into Bigger Pockets and loving the networking aspect of it all!  

It's clear that taking things slow to understand all aspects of Real Estate investing is a hard line requirement prior to purchasing any properties/units (regardless of strategy).I view the BiggerPockets site/content/books to be a treasure trove of information that I can continue to consume, but I'm lacking the network of individuals once I'm ready to get started investing $$$. 

Understand all aspects but see which way you are being led to a niche.

This is another aspect of forums I've been able to do on other sites, of which I find to be quite valuable.Seems to me, if I decide to use BP to educate myself, navigating the forums in what I consider to be a logical manner, is going to be difficult. 

Some like both.The asset protection aspect of it can be dubious. 

My prior experience has made me pretty good in the fixing aspect to increase rent.

There are plenty of books, podcasts, forums, etc for just about every aspect of RE investing that you're driven to proceed. 

This can happen in all aspects of the project.
