Hey Janani - in that price point I'd highly recommend looking at areas like Austell, Mableton, Kennesaw, Acworth, and Marietta in the western suburbs of the Atlanta metro.

However, even if I wanted to spend time in Tulum, I'd buy a property in a more profitable area (of Mexico) and use the cash flow to rent for cheap in Tulum to get money and lifestyle together.

They are not great for down payments.When determining which to use, I'd look at the interest rates, return on investments, and your overall risk profile.
