Will a bank allow you to use stocks and bonds as collateral?

My partners and I have agreed to a stock issuance to allow an additional partner to join the company that will dilute me personally to about 17-18%.The banks loan covenants state that any person with a greater than 20% ownership interest in the company will have to sign a personal guarantee, which as a 33% owner, I did.

The ideal candidates is usually the person that is older, risk averse and doesn't want to be an active investor (ie they would rather invest in mutual funds than stocks).Originally posted by @Michael Leffelholz:Patrick, Just a thought- What about a targeted mailing to financial advisors in your area.?

One of the additional benefits of the C Corporation is that it can purchase company stock.

They can't get it at the mutual fund or stock market.

OK, scratch that idea.In order to get the cash funds to do it, I have to sell some stocks. 

In fact, it can work well for the landlord and tenant to work on the insurance coverage together:  that way the landlord knows coverage is in place, and the tenant knows that the price tag isn't just a play by the landlord to grab an extra couple bucks.There's also coverage for plants, stock, commercial auto, employee benefits - everything a growing, professional business needs.I have seen subtle rating differences between medical and recreational, with slightly better rates for recreational here in WA.
