That almost sounds like a bargain though compared to the story I recently saw on the Fairmont Hotel charging $150,000 for a 3-night stay in their Presidential Suite that weekend.

I am certain there are many landlords who do this; however, it is illegal; once you agree to this program you are obligated to follow what Section 8 states in terms of what rent you will charge (whether they pay it all or they pay part and your tenant pays a share).Some landlords will, however, "rent" appliances such as washers and dryers to tenants (these are not required to be provided by Section 8)  to make up for what this program sadly, determines is "market rent" for their area.Gail
