Commercial property AIRBNB good idea?
27 April 2022 | 6 replies
If it is allowable to do 2 STRs there, then I'd check your local competition by going on VRBO and AIR and see what others are getting for nightly/weekly stays.I don't think there is an issue with 'duplex style'....people looking for vacation lodging stay in hotels after all..IT may not have quite the same appreciation value as a typical house, but does that matter so much if you're raking in the $$ with STR guests?

Do different types of guests use Airbnb vs. VRBO?
7 May 2022 | 13 replies
I prefer VRBO guests and even charge a premium on Air (~15% more) just to make it less likely they'll book, but if they do, so be it and I'll take the higher rate.

Will either leave you with a giant mess or worse sue you for taking advantage of them in their fragile financial situation. It is a lose/lose for you and the former homeowner/s and all you are doing is enabling them to prolong the inevitable (losing their house to foreclosure). If you can, as Paul mentioned, buy the note then great!
