I think PM makes the most sense because being an agent would require leaving the home more frequently.  

I recently spoke with a STR investor who got a recommendation for an interior designer from their real estate agent.

I got so lucky back then (3 properties have since gone up in smoke and we were fortunate to have been added as a loss payee/mortgagee before funding so that we were able to receive claim money) and was finally able to get my ducks in a row with the help of a local insurance agent who'd help me establish the right coverage limitations for my market, the project and property type, etc.

Recommend you ask them to explain their processes for: advertising rentals, prospect screening and maintenance COMMUNICATION.

Personally what I like to do is have all communication come through a personalized website.

I would say one of the biggest risks is communication.

I have a great insurance agent I switched to this year and happy to put you in touch.Taxes are far more complicated.
