I don't know that I have the time to mentor, or that I'm necessarily qualified to do that, but I am more than happy to grab a coffee and share what I know and my experiences househacking. 

@Henry Clark Ok gotcha so you're saying just explain better what nuances there are for specifically investing in Mexico.Well as you may have already discovered for yourself, Mexico is HUGE and is broken up into a bunch of different socioeconomic situations, geographical microclimates and ethnic backgrounds.Veracruz for example where you visited has a huge Lebanese-descendant population and that affects the architecture and cuisine noticeably, it's also Mexico's coffee capitol.

Most tenants don't do a great job taking care of it and you will have to constantly replace it due to things like coffee/food/wine stains, tracking in dirt, pets, etc.

I am always open to more conversation over the phone or coffee!

If there are empty cans and coffee cups all over the floor, clothes and boxes of stuff strewn on the back seat, and junk everywhere, it shows how the person will not take care of your house either. 

"naturally dried timber, which is much harder than what you can find at Home Depot today" - I built a coffee bar and shelfs for our kitchen out of old 1.5" wood like this.

I find people on here and on LinkedIn, and then invite them to a brief phone call or to grab a cup of coffee if they're local.

It seems that Corktown is one of the best neighborhoods to visit / live in due to all the restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, great walk score, etc.

I finally figured out I needed more help and reached out on here and Facebook groups to help connect and met people over coffee just to talk real estate and we ended up landing our first property a month later.3) As you are networking and researching, spend time building a good list of contacts from Lenders, Insurance Agents, Contractors.
