@Alan Baumann in CA these are permitted through the State as factory built housing, which I believe likely follows in most other States as well.

What about permits?

As of right now, Airbnb’s are being regulated and as long as you get the proper permits etc, you are in business.   

The actual plans were not required for permitting in this area. 

Also make sure you use a contract that pulls permits.

They know exactly what to look into to make sure the layout takes into consideration all the major building codes and local zoning requirements that you will need for permitting.

For those of you who are doing additions or remodels requiring permitting/planning, what have you found the waiting time in this area to get permits/plan approvals?
