Depending on the type of commercial you want to get into my suggestion is to go work for a company that does commercial real estate as learning from people who do it and getting paid at the same time is not a bad strategy 

With your real estate background in TX and NC, you’re in a great position to transition into investing.

Learning that I prefer money invested in real estate over money sitting in the bank... don't we all?!

You're supposed to have a license in every state if you are representing either a buyer or a seller in a real estate transaction, or acting as an intermediary in the sale of real estate.
