If you wanted to buy a Rental today that was move-in ready $300-350K, which Dallas suburb would you buy into and why? 

I have family that lives in Dallas County, so what I am about to say comes second hand and anecdotal.  

Plus, even when we move out and rent that unit as well, we would stIll need to pay $1500-2000 out of pocket, which would make it difficult to save up and grow our portfolIo So at this point if we can’t find a cheaper property in LA area, we’ll most likely start InvestIng in rental properties in Fresno or Dallas just to start building our portfolIo and continue paying rent.

Check your property tax basis on all investments there... some counties are not investor friendly, owner occupied gets a massive break unlike Polk/Dallas in Iowa.I've got some references back that way including contractors and realtors if you need a connect.

Hi All, I'm looking at a duplex in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex area; the seller has just counter offered with an addendum for reservation of the potential oil, gas and mineral reserves of the property.

Just google “AirBnB Dallas” and hit the news button and see if it’s scary and go from there. 

Currently in the Dallas, TX area and would love any advice in getting started including good books etc. to further educate myself. 

I heard Dallas county is not as landlord friendly as Tarrant County.
