And all that money you sink into paying off the mortgage is an opportunity cost, because you may have invested in another house, bitcoins, Trump bobbleheads, or something else. 

Lots of digital automation is on the way before bitcoin I believe

If you're waiting for the next down turn, then I would invest in other assets you see value in (oil, bitcoin, other real estate).

Right now I work a full-time job as a business consultant, I invest in index funds, bitcoin, and some other stocks, I buy and resell high end clothing and shoes.

@Thomas Hickey Starbucks;-)When we were in Austin a couple of weeks ago, I believe the markets that foreshadowed progre$$ were MT SuperMarket and Trader Joes.

I've been a day trader in a previous life, and there are plenty of examples of stock charts that go vertical, but they all come crashing down just as fast as they went up, usually over-correcting, before going back up again.

It's like you wanna buy a bottle of Altadena milk, and you hesitate between calling Altadena or buying the bottle at Trader Joes. 

I think bitcoin is proving daily not to be just a fad.
