I would maybe be less worried if I was renting to her in the spring since Minnesota eviction laws make it hard to evict in the winter.

What do you guys expect for the winter?

I've worked for a company that put in about 50 mid range boilers over the course of a few short years and spent about 50% of my time just trying to get them to limp along in the winter.

I am in NY, and having a w/d inside in the winter is always appreciated by busy grads who don't have time to go to the place in town, where it costs double.

In Bridgeport CT we are headed into the slow season fall and winter.  

A Challenge at that time of year is winter is fast approaching and filling rentals in winter is harder to do.  

My in-laws are retired, they have owned a "winter" home in AZ for a couple years, and a within the last year or so purchased a "summer" condo in MI after selling another home in MI to be closer to us and their grandchildren. 

The plan was to purchase, rehab/update (requires about $5k-$10k) and have it ready to resell by around winter/spring 2018 or earlier, in time for when the "snow birds" from the northern states are vacationing and looking for property to purchase.  

I found a place that had water damage from the pipes bursting in the winter.

Rather I'd prefer to hold property and gain from it on a monthly basis.I know it's more complicated from that, which is why I want to learn.So basically, I'd like to know if you have any specific material for off-country investment, vacation property that may only work half the year (In Crete, I understand the island is not active during the winter), management, and biographies/success stories/mistake stories of such cases.I type as I think, so I might be all over the place, apologies for that.Thank you very much!
