I have a decent amount of mechanical aptitude. 

Doctors, Lawyers, Architects, Nurses, Auto Mechanics, etc...don't have a problem with it.  

I have a mechanical background and enough fiance to get into trouble. 

I was a full time auto shop owner working 10 hour days and then leaving the shop to work on my flip with my partner who was a dental assistant.Here we are 11 years later, 25 flips, and now we are both licensed real estate agents having a ton of fun and making good money.

Hello all,I mentioned on a post today morning regarding sewer line backup that happened 2 times in a year at a rental property we own. https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/52/topics/294...I would like to ask if there are any mechanisms available that can be installed in the sewer line, to prevent backflow of the sewer water into the home?

Also careful with auto-renew clause that some sneak into contract.

I say that with two caveats. 1) I am assuming that you are responsible with your money and do not need a forced savings mechanism like an amortized loan; and 2) since this is a loan from a family member ensure either loan is set up properly.Bottom line, though, an interest only loan with the same rate and terms as an amortized loan gives you the OPTION to pay it the same as the amortized loan but does not REQUIRE you too.

Its good to have an idea of the age of mechanicals etc and can use that as a negation point.
