I grew up exposed to real estate (from my grandfather who owned laundry mats & apartment buildings and my dad who owned a car wash and his own rental units) and I’ve been interested ever since.

I grew up in Black Mountain, NC, went to HS here.

I am based out of Charlotte, but also have ties to the Alamance County area as that's where I grew up.

I feel lots of people think this way though, I grew up poor and so living ten years the same way to have 60 years of an easier life doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

More importantly, your balance sheet or net worth just grew by that amount by finding a good deal, which is not the case when you pay retail with a downpayment. 

I grew up in Belize in the '80s and hold dual citizenship BZE/US.  

If I may jump in here really quickly, as I grew up in the AV.

The idea of paying off properties as quickly as possible is somewhat a relic of the days with double digit interest rates (in the 80’s when my dad bought the house I grew up in, his first mortgage was 18%).

I would like my business to grew some credit to be able to leverage later on down the road.
