Mine has a large waiting list of tenants that exclusively rent out of her portfolio because they know they will find the right placement for them and they trust her abilities to care for the property in working class neighborhoods, when often times rental properties are in substandard condition.

There isn't enough information to give a solid answer but consider the options of the family member lending you the money and putting a Deed of Trust against the property the same way a bank would.
