I lived in my place for 1.5 years and during that time was able to come up with another down payment for a 5% conventional (single family home with an apt attched to garage). 

Barring another Great Depression that shuts down the big banks or worse, I think having a big enough nest egg will allow weathering almost any storm.  

Redwine @redwinerealty.com found a way to make those points in every single lecture and has shared stories in her 40 years of experience about the depths people will go to that have blown my mind!

In addition to storage containers (which can be costly to have delivered depending upon where you are located) there are a few companies that actualy make a "portable" single storage building that are shipped flat and you tilt up the walls and have a rentalable "no building permit and no tax hit" unit ready to rent in a couple of hours.

@Tom Ott works for a turnkey company (Smartland) that primarily does single family / small (<5 unit) though they have done mid sized properties and are trying to evolve into a syndicator of even larger deals.Let the board know more about the property; how many units, what area of the city, etc and you should get some recommendations.Oren
