Redfin local agents are paid a flat fee per door they open. 

I don't understand why us, consumer, just agree (in most cases) to a flat 6% as if that's like some an acceptable "rule".As consumers, we should ask for more.

Is everyone still buying and figuring market will at least stay flat??

If you persist, however, I recommend doing a flat fee listing.

@Diego Velasco we have seen flat rent growth and even a very slight rent rate decrease in limited areas right downtown, however rents are staying strong in most areas of the city and continuing to increase in the suburbs/ greater metro area.

I have seen a lump sum like $25k flat fee and additional 1%.

If you ever do open a wall for plumbing repairs, it is always a great idea to leave an easy access panel where you can quickly pop open the panel to make any future needed repairs.
