I actually had a seller financing deal recently fall through and was not charged, but I bet if that was my first creative deal with them they would have charged me for the hours burned (and it also fell through rather early in the process so was not a huge time-suck).

Since there's equity, I bet that the owner is going to fight and that his attorney will do everything he can to stall the confirmation of sale.When the confirmation looks imminent, the borrower may file BK on you and drag it out even further.
