My first thought was to change the batteries in a fire/smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detectors, etc. - or some other electronic device. 

I personally have been 'hedging' or divesting away from dollars from sometime, and am long RE and hard commodities, particularly silver, gold and developable land in both the US and Mexico. 

I don't know, :-)I suspect that if it has running water, bathroom, electricty, ingress & egress, smoke alarms, passes code, and is approved by the city, why not? 

When I toured the property  I could not smell smoke, only in the garage.

Bill--I don't see how it's much different than not allowing smoking in a unit.

How about instead of a "smoke detector", a "rent detector"?

I heard if you require the units to be smoke-free you are eligible for a discount, for example.

I am looking at these generators to remove smoke and pet smells.
