In contrast, if the sale was $900k with X% interest such that the payments were the same, the portion of each payment that represents interest would be includible in income.

You can find yourself in a lot of trouble if the numbers are miss-represented, rehab is not done correctly, back end management doesn't do what they are supposed to do.I would stay with established providers that have actual offices, been doing it for quite a while, and welcome you if you ever what to stop by.I do understand markets cannot totally be irrelevant though.

Make sure that the 93 YO lady is represented by an attorney... you don't want to be low balling the elderly .. our comment  Overwhelm ( save that for later) infers a negative connotation and for that reason if was an investor it would be like Shark Tank   For that reason I am out !

@Melissa Searing in CA, when "Notice of Petition to Administer Estate" has been posted by the county (no deed) and published by an adjudicated paper of general circulation, by all means send your probate introduction letter to the executor/administrator representing the estate.

or perfect example of someone taking advantage of ignorant folks. and instead of recommending that they hire their own attorney to walk them through this and represent their interest its slanted solely to the buyers interest... which of course creates hero worship on BP :)
