A 401K loan would probably be your best bet since any interest you pay on the loan usually goes back into your 401K account so it's essentially interest-free.If that's not an option here's an interesting article about different funding options using retirement accounts: https://www.moneycrashers.com/401k-ira-withdrawal-...I'm not a tax or accounting professional and you should probably talk to one to get the best mitigation of potential tax liabilities.

It's a really unique vibe that I don't get from any 'similar' groups.They do have some great online courses, but a few times a year, they also host 3-day retreats in different cities for 17-20 strangers, who seriously do leave with lifelong friends at the end.

You might be able to get away with paying the difference between the 1/2 month of rent and short term living cost.I think you would only have legal issues if you deny them use of the property for 2 weeks and charge them full rent.

@Dave Hart I wasn’t increasing rents in my properties and just realized in 3 years I’m at least $400 under market value now in 2 properties in different towns with leases in one building through next November.

Courts are extremely friendly to tenants, give them numerous extensions, and bend over backwards to help them, so it's not uncommon to hear stories of tenants living for 6-12 months in an apartment without paying rent.

Hi Alison, when you say many tenants with section 8 don't cover the rent, do you mean that the housing payment is less than the rent and that the tenant must pay the difference?
