The solution to that problem is that next to our attic there is a small room with a toilet and a shower, which one of our neighbors owns but has not used for a long time.

A second on a low levered property that's been owned for some time....ok I can believe that but a 2nd on a 100% levered property at time of acquisition....good luck.

With having young kids and working full time, being able to buy a house that needs mostly cosmetic updates that I can do myself would be easier than buying a property I would have to travel to without the family to work on.
