@Jon Klaus - we are building higher end homes for between $85-$95/sq. foot and we generally build 2800-3800 sq. foot floor plans on our infill lots.

I've only used a sharkbite fitting twice and I've used PEX many many times.Also, for anyone doing PEX, you can buy the pipe in the roll in 100 foot lengths.

My rehab plan is to buy at around $48-50 per sq foot in a newer part of town - 1990's construction, then depending on the quality of the house, ready to move in comps are asking $73-83/ft.

The question is a little broad, but I think I would start with comparing price per square foot with current sales, listings, and pending houses in the area.
