I see it time and time again where people think FHA is the only option (and it might be), but conventional gives you way more freedom.If the out of pocket expenses are too high to convert the basement to a MIL, you can always rent out the basement room(s) and share a kitchen.

Anytime more than 6 square feet (per room) of wall or other surface potentially containing asbestos is going to be removed/sanded/repaired for plumbing repairs or other maintenance problems, anywhere in the common hallway or other common rooms, it should have been tested, just based on the age of the building.Board members can be held personally responsible if they ignored professional recommendations, or did not obtain professional recommendations for the project.
