I would definitely consider it but make sure you check with local laws as it could be considered a boarding home with that many unrelated persons living together.

I usually get the unfinished cabinets because they cost less and seems like they would hold up better than the white ones that are made from particle board but I could be wrong.

If the popcorn ceiling is painted and adhering well I would not bother putting gyp board over it.

I definitely agree with being above board but the issue with testing is it will come back positive as every house that old has lead and most likely asbestos somewhere.

It's also true this can be a "hot button" with other residents, and yes, the board of directors can (and sometimes will) ban STR's down the road.
