One time I butted the "groove" part of a board to a board I had cut that had no "tongue" because I did not want to waste a board so of course the pieces looked great initially when installed but later the one board would move when walked upon and create a gap.2) remove all baseboards and re-install them afterwards.

If there aren't two available blanks in that panel, another circuit might have to go to make room for this (depending on the panel it might be possible to actually use a double tap breaker in a single opening to keep the same number of 120V circuits, or a sub-panel might be needed).
