Let's say it's a house sitting on 20 acres. 

legally, as a cost basis of the house, it should have been included in the closing documents because it impacts things like taxes collected by the state, etc.  

I AM NOT GETING INTO POLITICTS BUT THE HOUSES HOUSES HAVE WARRANTIES ON THEM JUST LIKE THEY DO IN AMERICA, SOMETHING HAPPENS TAKE THEM TO COURT LOL.

Texas recently passed state laws regarding those - and if you don't do it right, you lose the house and the debt entirely. 

I have been renting houses out for over a decade now and this has worked well for me.
