One of the things he tried to get me to do during the lease signing was to extend the 2 year lease by another year, and when that didn't work, put in writing that a lease renewal would be no more than 1% when the 2 year lease expired.

Ideally all the land around your home would be sloped away from your home and ALL of your down spouts would be extended either above or under ground to divert the water as far away from your home as you can.

Hi Chuck,I can't meet for coffee as I know longer live in the Bay Area (I attended college there, Santa Clara U, and lived there for several years when I was working a regular job in marketing and my extended family is still there) but I did flip a house in Prunedale (rural town between Gilroy and Santa Cruz) and have made investments in the Pacific Northwest (which have appreciated significantly).

You will have to test and prove that the sensor was faulty and not in fact something you did, for example stop under the door for extended period of time.

Just let them know the quicker you rent it you won't be disrupting anymore.I find with tenants like that the likely hood they will actually be moved by move out date is LOW and they will push the limit.. maybe suggest now they extend lease and do an extra month..

I think the play is to really try to get him out, rather than inheriting him, so I'll just plan to extend the date for as long as they need, and plan my living situation around that.

Not that there’s anything wrong with El Paso just anecdotally, based off my neighborhood, I see a lot of frequent rental property turn over and a lot of for rent signs out for an extended period of time.
