The pre-screen call has two benefits...(1) it narrows down the field and (2) you learn the process and will be more skilled for the in person visit.  

You still need to put in some serious legwork to vet potential providers - and I always recommend a visit to your top one or two once you've narrowed the field - but you can cut down a lot your work by focusing on full service operations.Luckily, there are several great full service operations in various markets and you're already in the right place to find them!

Local meetups are key, and being kind, courteous and genuinely excited about real estate will get you far in this career. 

Try to find an attorney that is very experienced in the investing field and preferably one that owns their own title company.
