Hello Genevieve,There are as many ways to find deals as there are people looking for them: you can work with a realtor, look over the MLS, scan the internet, send yellow letters, attend local REI club meetings, go 'driving for dollars', knock doors, make cold calls, post bandit signs, etc. 

@Matthew Tringali  I'm always looking for good meetups, what is the helpful Landlord subgroup that you've attended?

Find the closest REIA and attend their meetings and meet other investors there.

I have attended a couple of seminars and read a few books about investing, but I have no experience whatsoever as a investor. the market in Australia is currently in a gigantic bubble where it is a big difficult for investors to enter at this point.

I regularly attend the INREIA meetings and they're fairly decent but I'm looking to expand and meet other people that may not be in the REIA meetings and have us all network! 

You're welcome to attend.

But also I would love to attend some REI meetups and get involved in the community here.  

Good question....I would probably be interested in attending in the future, but the next 4-5 months are just totally nuts for me. 

I recently attended a class on real estate investing and I am now my knowledge on best ways to get started.
