That, coupled with a major redevelopment project downtown that brought a huge number of brand new apartments online, and a few more brand new large apartment complexes on the west side of town, is making it tough for anyone to get in the game here in G-town.

I would like a home within 30 mins of Portland on the west side near the forest.

There is tons of data from the US and around the world (example Germany, Sweden etc) where high taxes correlate with strong middle class, smaller wealth disparity and higher standard of living.

Then you wouldn't have to pay anything and you could take that savings you planned to use for this property and use it to buy up investment properties in the mid-west.  

Residential - it seems that expansion south and west continue as strong as ever and the remote-working situation will only encourage that.
