I am a new, but quite serious investor in the Southern California area.

@Jay Hinrichs well you know my story, and it's much the same, though you seem to have recovered much faster, due to the high cost of entry in southern California, but we're rolling now! 

With that being said I am involved in SFR but would like to focus more on multifamily and commercial real estate.My goal would be to find groups in Southern California that has either a commercial focus or has a good mix of people to network and develop relationships with.

I suppose these type of places exist in southern states like Fla , Tex , Ariz. etc; BUT it is NOT the LIFESTYLE my wife and I care to invest in .Honestly how would you Market such a Place either for sale or Buy and Hold Purposes ?

And keep in mind its been historically recreational and retiree market with a lot of commuters buying in the last 20 years in the southern part of the county and commuting into Napa Valley or Santa Rosa..
