It sounds like you are asking what color icing to put on your cake before you know how to bake. 

Unless it's a luxury home, go ahead and use wall colors, flooring, etc.  

Negative comments are those who allow you to avoid mistakes; ignoring the negatives and only looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses is silly in my opinion. 

I like those construction tips on passing framing it sounds like you've been at a few city inspections for framing prior.The idea about spray painting where things will go ahead of time with respect to electrical (color coding it), plumbing, and kitchen is pretty forward thinking vs making the inspector try to visualize where everything will eventually go and whether you pass or not.

Simply wanted to test an idea, anything less than 2000 sf, with 2 bath limit, no roof, no foundation, no landscape, exterior paint, 2 colors, all interior, no major wall reconfiguration, i figured around 75 man-days.

You want them excited to answer the phone and have you as a client, not thinking "jesus not this guy again, hes gonna ask me about the paint color inside the house or something."

Replaced all carpet with a LVT wood and painted the entire place with one color for consistency.
