Though putting new drywall over plaster seems benign, it does create concerns e.g. insulation, electrical boxes now being too shallow, etc.  

I also use a hand saw and miter box if I'm in a pinch or if I left my miter saw somewhere else and don't want to buy another miter saw for a small job.

The appraisal came back and the 433 was never recorded after all and to also add to the mystery the home 10 year ago had a VA loan on it???
