In houses what I see is the owners spending a ton on customizing their house in a way that only they will appreciate and getting angry at you when you include in your repair costs the cost of removing their insane design flaws. 

I discovered that Real Estate Investing in the U.S and othercountries is not the same thing as Real Estate investing in Nigeria.

There's lots of possibilities, and I feel like RE investing niches are pretty individual - I spent a long time poking around at different strategies (SFR, MFR, notes, etc) before deciding to try STRs and discovered they're a great fit for me.
