If you're in Alexandria are we talking Quantico or a surrounding base? 

Yeah I was thinking Hampton-Sydney and Longwood, which would be Farmvile, Amelia, Buckingham counties & therabouts as development/purchase costs would probably be cheaper than in Richmond and UVA ( what they want these days for a triplex near VCU is outrageous).Since your in Charlottesville, what demand are you seeing in the surrounding rural areas for rentals?

I’m a beginner in Cincinnati, Ohio and I’m looking to form some connections and create some relationships to surround myself with other hard working people that have a passion for real estate!

@Brendan McAllister What are your thoughts on West Philly (Cobb Creek and surrounding areas)?

Starting with these 4 but may expand to surrounding cities. 

Also, give him a quick and clear explanation about the main good point about the house and the surrounding.

The high property taxes in the surrounding counties (2.65%-2.97%) are also an issue.I was in Montana for a vacation trip last year and absolutely loved it and would love end up living their on day.

Im just learning about real estate investing and am surrounding myself with folks who i can learn from.

@Aaron Macken and @Gabe Pelak - we have about 1,800 duplexes sold every year within the metro area, most of them in Milwaukee, a hand full in the surrounding counties at higher price points.The first choice you have to make is do you want a 1920s or a 1960s duplex, both have their pros and cons when it comes to operating cost and curb appeal.

I'll have to reach out to the owners of surrounding properties to see if they want to sell the trees on their property to make it work.
