Can anyone tell me what the best colors for counter tops & tile if I'm using white cabinets  in a kitchen?

Now if you where re-doing the Bathroom/kitchen completely or putting in new siding (think James Hardie) that might be something else.  

Doesn't have to cost, just take things out of your own house for the fireplace mantel and some flowers or pretties on the kitchen counter.

In each unit, I am planning on replacing carpet in the living room and adjacent kitchen with some decent looking tile.
