If you looked at the individual properties, obviously the one cashflowed great and the other two were negative.

@Lan Bak, the REIT does have  distribution requirements (one of the reasons they start strong in a market and fade as a market matures).

After 3 years, it'd be paid off completely. 35000/100000 = 3.5% which is a bit higher than the 1% rule, which seems much more difficult now-a-days in the United States.Business in JapanAs an American, we can go there for 90 days, no VISA required.

Which is to say, like @Matthew Crivelli, you're going to have a hard time getting a loan with bad credit.Now, some DSCR lenders don't require super high credit, but most want to see upper 600s.

I also don't know if changing the insurance policy would also require me to loose the homestead exemption and DV discount on the property taxes.
