@Brittany Baker great question; I would say often just smoke and mirrors, a superficial success. 

I find that these older guys are are just “smoke and mirror words” the events of war, economic crash’s and covid are done now there will always be something due to big government needing another agenda but they’re not going to let it happen this soon again. 

There will be hard wired smoke detector requirements, and if your heating system is in the basement, typically xx of feet for the bedroom from the heater, with fire rated walls and doors. 

Or the property will be so well priced if your able to snag it you’ll get a smoking deal.

My partner steve he just blasted up the road.. for him a cooler with Salmon He caught from the river running through his Ranch or the Elk jerky or fresh elk steaks that he shot or Salmon Candy that he smoked.. and a big smile.the toughest ones were actually the greenies.. anti logging.. those folks could be pretty hostile ..  

I even heard of non-smoking landlords who use their "smoke time" to place the needed phone call.A system for handling tenant turnover needs to be implemented. 

I used to do this when I got a smoking deal on a cleaner but I'd send a cleaner in twice a month who charged me $40 each time to clean the kitchen, floors, bathrooms. 

It's all a smoke screen.
