@Corine Rosado I think the majority of people on BP are going to advise you not to go the mentor route just based on previous posts I have read.

I know you are not supposed to ask for someone to mentor you...

I’m a young guy who’s renovating a house I’m going to move into and eventually buy from a mentor to house hack.

People are generous with knowledge, but most aren’t out there looking to spend their valuable time being a mentor. 6.

The bogey in the equation is your new Broker or Mentor once you've received your license. 

We couldn't afford the expensive mentor / hand holding classes. 

So spend time on BP every day, find a great agent and get hooked up with an MLS portal and then analyze deals every day, drive around and look at properties, go to meet ups, find a mentor who let's you do work for him - make sure that you do at least one thing along those lines every single day.
