@Christina Webber et al, file this under TL,DR (too long, didn't read), but here is the regulation story (basically regulate all STRs) that the New Hampshire Municipal Association is advocating for towns across that state: NHMA: Regulating Short-term Rentals in New HampshireSpecifically, it references a case as precedent in Portsmouth which ruled against a couple from using the house next to them as a STR on the basis of it being "transient housing," which is precluded by the town.
