Looking to raise $500(k) to expand our business and keep the revenue stream high.

People are always your best source of access and information:  People like to be helpful and will often hold open {secure} doors for you, give you access to networks, tell you where someone's office is, etc.  

Additionally I want to maintain more control over the real estate aspect of our program (aside from helping to generate revenue, this real estate 'initiative' will also serve as an educational tool) than what I may currently have over the non profit org.I'm looking for general ideals on entity setup (LLC, For profit corporation,  etc.).

I'd imagine if they were not home and they got 8 yellow slips they would likely not pick up the letters from the post office...

When its time to retire I will have a nice paid for revenue generating portfolio. 

Even if I accumulate that revenue for my next purchase, I would want to get some additional return on that.
