People take on roommates, live with extended family or roommates longer than they would in other parts of the US, live in neighborhoods they wouldn't have considered years ago. 

We are older, and thought it was a weird idea to get a roommate at this point in our lives.

Get A Roommate: Living alone?

I could rent a nice class A apartment for about 2k-3k with a roommate.

I leveraged a lawn business & some retirement accounts to house hack a class a single family a mile from campus at 18 with roommates.

The other may not have been legit but it was already a unit with a pet rent and pet deposit so the roommate basically is avoiding pet rent but the initial tenants are paying a pet rent and paid a pet deposit.

I also had a roommate who rented a room from me, and covered most of my mortgage. 

I'm a big fan of multi-units myself, if you can get a duplex, rent out half, and have two roommates, you'll be making money hand over fist.

So for the single person, couple, or roommates a 2-bedroom is a luxury versus a 2-bedroom apartment that may have amenities, but has no yard or garage and doesn't feel like a test-run on buying a home.

Its a beneficial thing to bring goals to the surface and just share your thoughts with like minded people who can support you.I’ll start: I will find a location in the south/southwest to house hack a single family residence; preferably one with little yard maintenance I.e THE DESERT, or give the responsibility to my roommate, in exchange for a discount on rent.
