Unfortunately had to file an auto claim with Geico when another car hit me and the whole process was simple with no games.  

At the end of the year I profited X from property 1 and lost Y on property 2, it's a net wash/zero sum game.  

The city is still figuring the ADU game out down here but many people are building them and those I have spoken with are saying $25K in fees for a 1200 sf build!!

Although realistically these days you should probably pay off your primary as if you play the tax game correctly you probably won’t have enough personal deductions to exceed the standard deduction making your home mortgage interest non-deductible.

I'm playing the long game with my rentals so I'm not selling or do I plan to refi pulling money out.
